 IN-HOUSE ROLLER HOCKEY LEAGUE:

This league is for anyone interested in the thrill of playing a fast moving, physically taxing and mentally challenging game just for the fun of getting out there and doing it.  we focus our attention on providing league members with a great skating experience while fostering team spirit.  Team standings will be maintained and Certificates awarded at The-End-Of-The-Year Celebration.  THE TEN WEEK SEASON CONSISTS OF:

                  anim.puck.gifWEEK 1:  Organization, player evaluation, team selection, scrimmage
                  anim.puck.gifWEEK 2 thru 8:  Games (Week 2 game exhibition, week 3 to 8 count for league standings)
                  anim.puck.gifWEEK 9:  Playoffs
                  anim.puck.gifWEEK 10:  Championships (PEE WEES-STATISTICS WILL NOT BE KEPT. PLAYOFFS AND CHAMPIONSHIPS DO NOT APPLY.  PEE WEE GAMES MAY BE PLAYED 3/4 LENGTH OF THE FLOOR)
 All others will played the Full Length of the Floor.  Each player that completes the season will be eligible to attend the END-OF-THE-YEAR-CELEBRATION after the Spring Season.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
AGE GROUPS AND PLAYING TIMES:   Roller Hockey is Open to Boys & Girls

PEE WEES:  7 years and under:  2-15 minute periods on Sundays between 3:30 - 5:00pm

FRESHMEN:  12 years and under:  2-20 minute periods on Sundays between 11am - 1pm

SOPHOMORE:  15 years and under: 3-15 minute periods on Sundays between 7:15 - 9pm

Pee Wee eligibility is not solely based on age.  Ability and stature will also be determinate factors decided upon by the coaches and Hockey Dierctor.  Sunday is the base day from which games will be scheduled.  In an effort to maintain competitive teams for each season, we cannot guarantee that each player will be drafted to the same team on which he/she played during the previous season.

 

 

 

 

 

 

   

FEES:  Payments MUST be made in ADVANCE.  Pro-rated refunds to the end of the second week.  NO REFUNDS thereafter.

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Each player MUST have a hockey helmet, face protector, mouthpiece, elbow pads, hockey gloves, cup (males), knee/shin pads and hockey sticks (sticks must have butt-end protection).  Allprotective hockey equipment can be ordered conveniently through our Pro-Shop.  Rental equipment is not available at the rink.  Each player MUST ALSO have a YOUNG'S ROLLING THUNDER TEAM JERSEY.  Team jerseys are to be bought from the rink at a cost of only $18.00.

 

 

 

 

PARENT PARTICIPATION IS AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY. . .

 COACHES, TIME KEEPERS,  SCORE-KEEPERS AND REFEREES, WILL BE NEEDED.

 The success of any youth sports organizaton depends on the participation of the parents.

A  SKILLS  DEVELOPMENT  PROGRAM

EVERY  THURSDAY   5:30 - 6:30PM

 STARTING  SEPTEMBER 13, 2007

 (Not Available June, July, or August)

 COST:  $5.50

This program is for those who would like to learn how to improve their hockey skills.  Instruction will consist of the following skills throughout the course of the program:

Skating Skills: Forward, Backward, Crossover, Stopping, Power stopping 

Stick Handling/Control: Forward, Backward,Around obstacles
Passing and Shooting: Full speed, Breakout, Situational, Scrimmage
Situational/Positional Hockey: Power play, Breakouts, Scrimmage
Game Rules and Teamwork:  Scrimmage, Bench coaching
Full Scrimmage with on-floor coaching
Drill Stations, Scrimmage
Goal Tending

       Inline Skating is a fast, exciting and the next Olympic Sport.  There are inline races all over the United States, indoor and outdoor.  Indoor League meets are based on a point system with trophies for top qualifiers.  The Outdoor circuit is a rapidly growing field with cash prizes available.

       Come try one of our practice sessions and speak to our Head Coach - Joe Cusac.  Young's Inline racing participates in a league geared for any age and experience levels from beginner to elite athletes.  Practices are held twice per week with competitions monthly.  These Meets are held on Sunday mornings at participating skating centers within a maximium of a two hour drive.

 So  if  you  have  the

       With over 50 years of combined experience  in Roller Speed Skating, Joe and Lisa hold Numerous State, Regional and National Titles.  Together they have coached several skaters to the National Level.
